Postal Codes

Hungarian post codes are made up of four digits:

  • The first number indicates the postal region
  • The second number indicates the routing area
  • The third number is the routing zone
  • The fourth number shows the destination

Writing Addresses

Addresses should be written in the bottom right corner of an envelope, beneath the stamp. The envelope should be addressed as follows:

  • Recipient’s name
    Town/City
    Street + house / flat name or number
    Post code
    Hungary (if sending from outside Hungary)

The correct way to write an address is as follows:

  • Person’s name
    Budapest
    Virágtér 3
    1037
    Hungary
