Buying a property in India

Buying property in India can be a complex process, although not as complex as some realtors would have us believe...

India's property market offers a wealth of choice. Older buildings may be less expensive and have more character, but maintenance costs may prove prohibitive. New builds will cost less in maintenance but the full costs of taking over ownership may be obscured by the developer. Apartments are low-maintenance but may have high body corporate fees for groundskeeping and upkeep of the swimming pool if a buyer is lucky enough to have access to one.

The decisions are endless but generally speaking, with the help of a good lawyer and a good real estate agent, buying a new home in India can be a rewarding experience
