Diving in India

Where to go scuba diving in Indian waters…

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands (in the Bay of Bengal, about 1,400 Km from the mainland) and the Lakshadweep Islands (in the Arabian Sea, about 200 Km off the coast of Kerala) are India’s most popular diving destinations. These spectacular islands offer unspoilt beaches with clear water, a wide range of marine life and colourful coral.

Each has several dive centres offering courses certified by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). Equipment can be hired on-site.

A doctor’s certificate may be required stating that a person is fit to dive. Divers who are already certified must present proof of their certification and diving logbook before being allowed to dive.

The diving season runs from December to May, when rainfall is low and visibility is good.
