Preparations before arrival
Pets must have a rabies vaccination at least 30 days before arrival, or the vaccination must have been administered within the previous 12 months.
The first step is to get a letter from the Ministry of Agriculture permitting a pet to be brought into Indonesia.

The following information about the pet must be included with the letter:
- Species
- Name
- Gender
- Appearance
- Other characteristics
Upon arrival in Indonesia, the following documents must be provided:
- Health certificate from a veterinarian (issued within five days of the animal's departure)
- Rabies vaccination certificate from a veterinarian
- Copy of owner's passport

Microchips
A pet must be fitted with a microchip: an ISO Standard 11784, or an Annex A to ISO Standard 11785. If a pet is not fitted with an ISO chip, the owner must carry the chip's scanner.
