Finding toddler groups
There are toddler groups available in areas of Indonesia, but no centralised organisation that overseas them. They tend to be organised by expatriate groups such as:
- The Australian and New Zealand Association
- The British Women's Association Jakarta
- The Canadian Women's Association
Information on local mother and babies groups can also be found on expatriate forums and by talking to other parents who live in the same area, or whose older children go to the same schools.
Out and about with toddlers
Indonesia's climate and location make the islands an ideal natural playground for young children. There are many safe beaches for swimming and building sandcastles. There are also a host of activities popular in destinations like Bali such as elephant rides, butterfly parks and wildlife centres.

Another popular option is to join a members' club or sports club which have lots of facilities available such as large swimming pools and even children's playgrounds.
