Connecting the Electricity Supply

Find out how to get connected to the electricity supply and where to pay your electricity bills in Indonesia...

Power supply

Before renting accommodation, check the power supply wattage. For example, a home with two air conditioning units, a refrigerator, water pumps and other common electrical devices will need a minimum of 4,400 Watts. Almost all houses in Bali have a power supply lower than 4,400 watts. Check the wattage with PLN before signing any contracts. It is possible to request an upgrade of the power supply, however, there is a waiting list and it can take up to one year to receive the upgrade, due to lack of power in the area.

The power supply can range from 450 to 16,500 Watts. The price per kilowatt and the basic monthly charge increases slightly with the amount of kilowatts supplied.
