Postal services in Malta are run by Malta Post. It has a comprehensive website, which allows users to find information on stamps, postal services, stamps and postage rates, international mail, money transfers and payment of bills. The website also has a search facility, which allows people to find their nearest post office, letterbox or stamp vendor.

Post offices are generally open from Monday to Friday from approximately 08:15 onwards, and on Saturday mornings. They are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Post codes in Malta are made up of three letters, which represent the locality, followed by four digits. For example, VLT 1118. The Malta Post website has a zip code finder which allows users to search for a postal code by entering address details. Users are asked to select a town name and then a street name from a given list.

The correct way to write an address is as follows:

    Street name and number
    District
    Locality and postcode

In addition, it may be necessary to include the apartment number and name, the building name and entrance number for apartments. This is included before the street name.
