There are various institutions and programs that provide opportunities for students and teenagers in Mexico, both publicly and privately funded.

Youth Organizations and Programs

The Instituto Mexicano de la Juventud provides a range of services and programs in support of youth, including legal, mental health, educational, and cultural support.

The National Council for Culture and the Arts (Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes - CONACULTA) coordinates and promotes culture and the arts in Mexico. The CONACULTA website provides information on activities, classes, events and festivals of interest to youth in Mexico City, with links to programs in other states.

The Sistema Nacional de Fomento Musical (SNFM) coordinates musical events, youth organizations and classes, and conservatories. Calls to audition for Mexico´s Symphonic Youth Orchestra are announced on the SNFM website.

Student Discount Cards

A Poder Joven card is a government-supported youth discount scheme. The holder can obtain a variety of reductions, for example, on accommodation, clothing, cultural activities, classes, food, sport and transport.
