Information about doctors and pharmacies and getting medical assistance in Mexico...
In case of need of medical assistance, either a doctor, health center or hospital can be visited. If it is a serious medical emergency, it is advisable to go a hospital emergency room (sala de urgencias).
The national emergency number is 911.

There are often long waiting times in out-patient clinics. Many people choose to see a private doctor and pay the fees themselves. Compared to the fees in many western countries, fees to see a private doctor are lower.
Pharmacies
Pharmacies in Mexico sell a wide choice of products, over the counter medicines and prescription medicines. In larger cities there are always a number of pharmacies open 24 hours.
