Youth Organizations

Information about some of the main organizations and associations for young people in Panama...

Most clubs or associations for young people are privately organized and local rather than government-sponsored.

Note: while some groups have English-speaking staff, participants and volunteers, there is no guarantee that English will be spoken in every group.

Scouts and Girl Guides

There are Guide units throughout Panama and several in Panama City.


Geo Juvenil Panamá aims to promote youth volunteering in Panama, raising environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable development.

Sports Associations

There are several Junior Baseball Leagues which meet regularly in Panama City and also in the rest of the country. There is no central website for the leagues, but notices and information can be found posted in parks where the leagues practice. Local schools may also be able to provide information about joining a league.

Youth Associations

Young Expats in Panama (YEP) organizes a large variety of social activities for younger expatriates. Activities include beach trips, charity events and parties.

Red Voz de la Niñez (The "Childhood Voice Network"), part of the Instituto para el Desarrollo de la Mujer y la Infancia (IDEM) provides training opportunities for young people and organizes national and international exchanges.

Agenda Joven promotes citizenship and encourages young people to take part in politics and elections.
