The minimum age to drive in Panama is 18.

Foreigners with a valid foreign driving license can legally drive with the foreign license for 90 days. Residents must then apply for a Panamanian driving license.

SERTRACEN is the government body that issues driving licenses in Panama.

The validity of a foreign license in Panama depends on the type of residency the driver has. If residency is for one year, the license will be valid for one year. If residency is permanent, the license will have to be renewed every four years. There is a nominal fee for obtaining a local license.
