The community tax applies to:
- Every inhabitant of the Philippines aged 18 years of age or over who has been regularly employed on a wage or salary basis for at least 30 consecutive working days during any calendar year
- Someone who is engaged in business or an occupation
- Someone who owns real property with an aggregate assessed value of one thousand pesos or more
- Someone who is required by law to file an income tax return
The community tax certificate is a documentary requirement when filing an income tax return, registering a new business or applying for postal ID. It is processed through the barangay or municipal offices where the applicant resides. The process for acquiring a community tax certificate is as follows:
- Proceed to city hall or barangay and ask for the designated office/desk/window for the Sedula/Community Tax Certificate (CTC)
- Present a valid ID
- Fill out the application form. Provide the following information:
- Full name
- Address
- Citizenship
- Civil status
- Profession/Occupation/Business
- TIN (tax identification number)
- Date and place of birth
- Height
- Weight
- Right thumb print
- Signature
4. Submit the accomplished application form
5. Pay the required amount at the designated personnel/window
6. Wait for the issuing officer to give you your Sedula/Community Tax Certificate (CTC)
