Cycling is a good way to explore South Korea. There are cycle paths all over the country, particularly along rivers. Cycling is very popular along the Han River in Seoul. The Korean countryside can be explored on quiet roads and dirt tracks, offering a unique way to the see the country.

For serious cyclists, there is a cyclodrome in Changwon which runs velodrome, road and mountain bike races. The Korean Cycling Federation is the official body for cycle racing in Korea and organises races and events around the country. They maintain a website but it is only available in Korean.

The mountainous countryside makes South Korea perfect for mountain biking, although despite the mountainous nature of the country, off-road mountain biking is a relatively new sport in South Korea. Many of the trails are rough and difficult but, with recent development, there are trails to suit all levels around the country. There are a number of high-quality trails around Seoul. Bundang, an hour south of Seoul, has a large network of trails. Sinwolsan, which is between Seoul and Bucheon, has trails suitable for anyone with some experience and basic fitness, as well as some hard sections.
