Find out how to get around Switzerland using the bus and coach networks...

PostBus is the main national bus company in Switzerland. It is run by Swiss Post and their distinctive yellow buses have services throughout the country. Timetable and service information is available on their website. A number of passes are available to reduce the cost of travel for regular bus users. Tickets can be purchased either on a bus or from a PostBus sales station (Verkaufsstellen).

Bikes can be taken on PostBus buses as long as there is sufficient space and they don't prohibit other travellers from getting on or off the bus. Some buses are equipped with bicycle racks at the rear of the vehicle. Routes accepting bikes and requiring reservation are labelled online with a bike symbol.  A bike ticket must be purchased. Booking is needed on some routes.

Eurolines run international bus services throughout Europe and parts of North Africa.  Tickets can be purchased online and a discount card is available which applies to all standard tickets bought. A Eurolines pass allows the holder unlimited travel between 50 European cities over a 15 or 30 day period.
