Understand the laws affecting teenagers working in Vietnam...

The legal age at which teenagers can start working in Vietnam is 15 years old. Teenagers who are under 15 years of age and who wish to work must have the consent of their parents or guardian.

The rules governing working hours for teenagers are:

  • Working hours cannot exceed eight hours per day or 48 hours per week
  • Overtime cannot exceed four hours per day or 200 hours per year
  • A teenager can work a night shift from 22:00 to 06:00 or 21:00 to 05:00
  • A teenager who works for eight hours per day must have at least a 30-minute break
