There are a number of administration procedures which foreigners must carry out when they are in Vietnam. Some of the main organisations that residents in Vietnam need to deal with can be found below.
Immigration

Temporary residence registration (Dang ky tam tru) for foreigners
Foreigners need to register their temporary residence at the local police station within 30 days of arrival in Vietnam, or when moving to a new address. This process is usually done by the property owner or hotel manager. Foreigners will need to supply their passport, a valid visa, and a declaration of entry from the immigration office to the local public security office.

Driving Licences
The Ministry of Transport (Bo giao thong van tai) is the government agency responsible for the state management of transportation by road, rail, waterways, and aviation in Vietnam.

Each city and province has a Department of Transportation which is governed by the Ministry of Transport. Foreigners need to go to their local Department of Transportation to exchange a driving licence.
