The famous "festival de Prades" offers a free concert on April 18th to introduce the winners of their competition. I was there last year and it was just brilliant! If you have a chance, don't hesitate. And to make things even better it takes place in the Abbaye de Cuxa (at 4pm)....

No joke! The play is "Fragments" by Samuel Beckett and it will be performed in English (with French subtitles!) at the theatre Jacques Coeur on the 2nd and 3rd of April. This is right South of Montpellier, close to the A9 exit, easy to find.

Fancy doing something different Saturday 28th March? I am organising a swing dance workshop for our members at the English speaking association Britsnimes and wondered if you would like to join us at Centre de Danse Daniel Manin, 7 bis rue Sainte Felicite 30000 Nimes. The workshop takes place from 10am-4.30pm with a 2 1/2hr lunch break. Even if you are not a member, why not come and discover Britsnimes and enjoy a great day of dancing! You will learn the Lindy Hop, a dance that originated in Harlem between the 1920s & 40s which evolved with jazz music. Dance to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Glenn Miller, Louis Prima and Ray Charles - infectious music that you cannot help but get into! Couples & singles are welcome. The price for a couple is 60 euros and for a single 40 euros (payable to the dance school) with coffee and a cold drink included - a great price for a whole days dancing with a professional dancer! Daniel is a great teacher and he also speaks English, you will get the steps in no time! Relaxing/friendly atmosphere, air-conditioned room, really easy steps! Great exercise and a great laugh! The lunch is optional (salad, pizza, pasta etc) at approximately 10-15 euros pp. Book early! I do hope you will join us there! If you have any questions or would like any further information, please do not hesitate contact me. You can also find further details at www.britsnimes.com under Future Dates! Please contact me at victoria@britsnimes.com or on 06 13 93 57 99 to make your reservation by the latest 6pm Wednesday 18th of March. Keep Dancing! Kind regards Victoria James

Any help with organising our Burns night very welcome. Near to Ceret. Bit late notice, but we have decided that with the abundance of whisky available across the border, and to brighten up the winter evenings and fighting the snow, a bit of a reel might be just what is needed! Email me if you want to come/get involved/or can help. Thanks. Carole. Carole James & kevin Campell04 68 39 51 93

Hello Languedoc! Our Association is looking to put on a 3 day festival next summer. We are very organised and have plenty of experience in putting on events. We are looking to rent land for the event. The festival will combine all kinds of music and will aim to be as enviorenmentally friendly as possible, promoting sustainable living and being family friendly. The land needs to be accessible, not too remote but remote enough not to disturb too many neighbours.Something in the region of 5 hectares, to allow for car parking and camping. If you have or know of anyone that maybe interested in helping us, please email me directly and I will get back to you. Thanks in advance.
