Hi, I have some french neighbours who are desperately looking for homes for some ex hunting dogs. They were the dogs of an elderly relative who can no longer care for them & they spend all of their time cooped-up in a kennel now. I will have more details soon & maybe some photos. As these dogs have not been house-trained they will ideally need to live outdoors & to be with people who have experience with dogs. Anyone interested, please PM me for more information. We are dept 66 near Ceret & Perpignan.
A cat has been hanging around here and despite phoning around, ads placed locally, she hasn't been claimed. I think she has been abandoned. As we are not here all the time and can't take her in, we need to get her to a refuge. Any recommendations please for one in/near Perpignan? Got the SPA details (at Polygone Nord) and have left messages but have not received email reply and keep getting ansaphone. Are they open to receive abandoned animals daily or will we need an appointment? Any help appreciated.
I was thinking of setting up a dog-walking/pet sitting business because there must be thousand of dog/cat-owners who have to leave thier pets alone all day while they go out to work. I have two questions: Do other AI users think this would work? and is this service already in existence in the Carcassonne area? Any advice would be great!!!!
Small, experienced, 16 y/o girl looking for a horse/pony to ride on a weekly basis - no further than 20 mins from Carcassonne area. I've been riding for 10 years - i don't mind riding a challenge or breaking/bringing something on. I've had ponies all my life, and unfortunately had to sell 13h pony last year after outgrowing her. Work in exchange to ride email@example.com
Hi My partner and I are touring France currently, with a view to moving here permanently, and are available for free house and pet sitting, from the end of April through to October. We are English, aged 49 and 39, professional workers, and have our own car here in France, so travel is easy. Please PM me for more details Thanks Mark and Allison
Charles is a lovely male Cocker Spaniel cross of 3 years old (Microchip Number: 958000001471723). He is castrated, vaccinated fully up to date and microchipped. He was rescued from Lebanon and is just so loving, very clever and has lots of energy. I am working with him at the moment; providing basic training/socialisation and once he is re-homed I will continue to provide all aftercare and further training. Charles would love someone who could provide him with lots of cuddles and time. He has lots of energy and would love nothing more than long walks with his new owner. I am looking for a home for him without any cats and other dogs as he would best suit a home where he would be the only dog and be provided with one to one attention. He also needs some further training with socialisation so would best benefit from this type of home. He really would provide someone with great companionship; he is very sweet and could just flourish in the right home!! Please if you feel you can offer a loving home to Charles, don't hesitate to contact me on for further information and photographs: Victoria James Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We are looking to buy a Siamese kitten and have been quoted 850 euro by a breeder in the Aude. This seems very expensive by UK standards. Does anyone have experience of buying Siamese/pedigree kittens and whether this is par for the course? Any Siamese breeder recommendations also welcome.
Wendy is a Labrador / German shepherd mix. She found a home but the lady was allergic to dogs and reluctantly had to return her. As I have three other dogs and have recently got divorced, I am unable to look after her properly. She is brown, medium build, active, loving and intelligent. She is looking for a family to love and care for her. Chip No. 250268500341968. Please call Jeff on 0468 599775.
Hi Does anyone out there do vide greniers or the like to fundraise for the SPA ? I used to run my own animal charity back in England, and we raised all our money that way. However here I am too busy to do it myself but always have things which I would rather pass on to be sold for funds for animals.thanksChris
The town of Toulouse in Haute-Garonne (32), and the Alpes-Maritime department (06) both support the neutering of their stray cats as a means to reduce their number. I would like to know how many communes, towns, cities or departments in Languedoc-Roussillon support their local stray cat associations/refuges. If you know that the mayor of your commune, for example, is supportive then please please let me know. Similarly which towns, cities and departments. Thanks. I adopted a beautiful female dog from the SPA but unfortunately my male dog has become very jealous of her and although he hasn't attacked her I don't want there to be any accidents obviously. He is fine outside with Belle -just ignores her but in the house he is not at all happy. Belle is 5 years old, a crosse breton spaniel / griffon (my French neighbour said a 'hunt dog') She is the most affectionate and loving dog who just craves affection. She is about knee height and medium build. I don't have any photos at the moment as I only had to come to this awful decision this morning and I'm not sure how to upload pictures onto the site but if anyone wants to see her please send me a message and I will email pictures directly to your email address. If I can't find her the loving home that she deserves and which I thought I could offer here I will have to take her back to the SPA as I don't want anything bad for either dog. Thank you to anyone who can help at all.

My friend is doing a rescue run to Barcelona on 16 November to bring back a couple of Podenco dogs who have been rescued from Lanzarote. She is doing it for Sheelagh at Phoenix Association in the Dordogne. My friend Rowan lives in Carcassonne and would welcome some help either in the shape of a co-driver or an overnight stop over once she is over the border back in France, for her and the two dogs, so that she can get them up as close to Phoenix and foster homes the following day. Are there any kind souls who would be able to help her. Just to be clear the route will be from Carcassonne to Barcelona and then back and up towards the Dordogne on 16 November. Thank you.
Sacha and Popeye, two beautifully cared for mother and son. Due to a split and subsequent return to the UK, these two dogs were taken to Carcassonne SPA this week and are very frightened, worried and confused. They have all their papers and as you will see from the picture, they are beautifully clipped and obviously real family dogs. They are wonderful with children, cats and other dogs - house trained and well behaved - 10 out of 10 in fact. Sacha (Mum) has an up to date UK Passport too, but not Popeye as yet. She is 9 years old, sterlised, chipped and fully vaccinated. Popeye is 2 years old, castrated, chipped and fully vaccinated also. THEY REALLY HAVE TO STAY TOGETHER!Chip numbers:Sacha 250 269 800 123 793Popeye 250 269 801 223 755
Hello, Does anyone know of a reliable and somewhat inexpensive company that would pick up my cat in Coux 07000 and take her to CDG Airport in Paris? We do not have flight info yet, as I need to work on getting her to the airport, but she will be flying to LAX. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are leaving first and the cat is not ready yet! My email in email@example.com. Thank you!
