hi all, my wife and I have recently bought a house and small lake in the haute vienne, I'm looking for some advice on the correct way to drain a lake, when and how often it should be done and how to deal with unwanted invasive species, I'm a keen angler but never had anything to do with looking after a lake! Any advice would be much appreciated thanks

I am looking for anybody that might be able to help who has some land with rocky streams, rocky gullies that wouldn t mind me using for some classic trials practise for some up coming competitions. I live in the Dordogne and although we have great land not much in the way of what I need to hone up on.It would be on a once a month if that basis, we dont make much noise, are fully insured and know what we are doing... If you have anything, and its not too far from me would love to hear from you .Thanks

The Limousin Writers Group is a small, friendly bunch of writers on the hunt for new blood. We generally meet twice per month in North Correze and South Haute-Vienne (Eymoutiers - Uzerche Radius). One meeting takes place in the morning and the other usually in the evening. If you write, would like to write, would like help on where to take your ideas, or how to improve your technique, please do get in touch! We are very sociable but also focused. Our aim is to inspire, encourage, nurture and develop our writing skills and ambitions together. If this sounds like a team you could fit in with and are interested in joining us, please private message me. All levels of experience are welcome, as are all nationalities. Do please note that we write and speak in English. Of course, if you have any questions about the group and what we do, feel free to ask away here in the discussion thread. Hope we speak soon! All the best,Charlie
Hi, I am about to start back into fly fishing again. I have my carte de peche for all of France. I prefer rivers to lakes. Do any of you have advice on where to go for my first few sorties that are easily accessible. My neighbour, who has only just started to learn the art, will be coming along with me so some space to allow for wayward casting would be helpful too. We live on the borders between Vienne, Haut-Vienne and Indre. Thanks in advance.
Fishing Clubs I have just moved to the Haute Vienne from Normandy. Whilst in Normandy I helped start up the Anglo Normandy Angling Club. It covered the 3 departments in Lower Normandy as well as the Mayenne. We used to meet at least once a month for a friendly competition and it got us to fish a number of different locations. Having moved into the area known as a thousand lakes I wonder if anyone else would be interested in doing the same here. In Normandy we were a registered club and had a number of friendly matched against French teams plus being invited to several matches outside the area, I have a small one and half acre lake that could be used to start off any meeting if people are interested.
