A message for all of our readers from the U.S. EmbassyU.S Embassy Lisbon, PortugalSecurity Message for U.S. Citizens: Portuguese Airport Strikes April 13-17 The U.S. Embassy in Lisbon informs all U.S. citizens that, per local media, Portuguese airport security employees are planning a strike that will begin at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, April 13 and will continue until 11:59 p.m. Monday, April 17. Airport authorities have advised customers flying out of Portuguese airports during these times to seek or await instructions from their airlines. The U.S. Embassy cannot assist U.S. citizens by intervening or coordinating with airlines or travel agents for inconvenienced passengers as a result of these strikes. Passengers may also wish to arrive at the airport earlier than normal.
