We'd like to thank one of our readers who wrote in to alert us about a change to the procedures when obtaining a fishing licence.   . . . . . . . .  Our INFOpage is being updated, but we want to pass this along now! Foreigners without a Portuguese Cartão da Cidadão must now apply in person or by email to obtain a licence to fish in Portugal. It’s easy to do by email and you can apply up to 5 days ahead. We are shortly moving to the Coimbra area and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for removal companies. We are moving from the Isle of Wight. We have had a few quotes for professional movers...but the jury is out on that one for the moment. Alternatively, we are thinking of moving our possessions ourselves in a 7.5 ton truck. Has anyone any thoughts or suggestions on the above Please?

After some help, In Sep 12 we joined MEO services on a 2 year contract. In Sep 14 we contacted MEO and were offered a new deal with no contract with a free movie per month. we specfically asked for no contract as we were thinking of moving back to UK in the no so distant future.  Forward to now, we wish to move back to the UK, contacted MEO to cancel and have been told that 'on the system' we agreed to another 2 year contract and would have to pay up the difference to cancel.  Obviously this was not the case and even though my wife (who speaks portuguese so no language barrier) explained that we didnt want this contract she was flatly told that there was nothing we could do and just pay up.  They said an option was to take MEO to UK, even though they said they thought it wouldnt work???  What can I do?  Any advice on the next steps?  Many thanks Andrew

We received this recently from The Greater Lisbon Chaplaincy and want to share it with those who have not received the news. . . . .  Next week Fr Robert Ellis leaves us and hands over the duties of Locum Chaplain to his brother, Bishop Tim Ellis. We are grateful to Fr Robert for all his work and will miss his friendly, relaxed style and especially the jokes which peppered his sermons. Many thanks and we hope to see you back in Lisbon one of these days.  Bishop Tim hardly needs any further introduction as Fr Robert has already told us the most important thing, which is that he is a football fanatic, supports Sheffield Wednesday FC and has a season ticket. He will surely feel at home in Portugal, where football is a national passion.  Bishop Tim was Bishop of Grantham in the Lincoln Diocese before retiring two years ago.
