my kitchen cupboards are very pale coloured wood without a heavy finish on them. I love how they look and do not want to put any type of varnish on them. My problem is that they do get dirty quiet quickly, what should I clean them with?

I don't have my own means of transportation and hope someone will be able to explain to me how I may get to these three stores using the public transport system — preferably Carris as I find the Metro quite a hassle. Thanks.

Whats the best way to get a splinter out. I have one in the palm of my hand and cannot remove it. I am a bit of a whip when it comes to pain so bear that in mind!!

As there is a question here about cream of tartar in Portuguese, I would also like to ask about corn syrup used for baking.
Can anyone tell me what is corn syrup in Portuguese ?

I always use Muriatic Acid to clean the bathroom especially to remove the stains in the toilet bowl. But I always forget to wear a mask. Is it really bad to inhale it ?

A friend of my mums used to make minty sweets using powdered milk and I think golden syrup. Has anyone heard of this recipe, I want to make some when sis comes over for nostalgic reasons
