Why to consult a therapist?

In case of anxiety, depression, phobias, panic attack, trauma/PTSD, burnout, harassment at work/school, grief, sudden mood changes, family issues, health issues, substance abuse, eating disorders, somatization disorder (when the disease has no medical explanation), stress management, performance enhancement. 

Other reasons to consult:

Prevention- It is not necessary to wait until you feel that the situation is too painful before you decide to consult. As for example, you consult your doctor to make an annual check-up, you can go and see a psychotherapist at the first symptoms of emotional discomfort and stress. In this case, the treatment can be easier and shorter.

To have a time and space for “yourself”- learn about “who you are” and your goals in life. What motivates you. Not only working in the “problem” level, but also in the “resource” level.

To maintain well-balanced life- 2 sessions a month is normally enough to cope with the daily stress. Specially thought the relaxation/visualization it is possible to “clean and restore” emotional/mental harmony.

Principals of Gestalt Therapy:

Awareness- is the key word and the objective of a gestalt therapy. The more conscious you are of your mental and emotional process, the more you can flow in the process of life that knows exactly what you need and HOW to get there.

Here and now- in the Gestalt therapy the client is constantly asked for taking responsibility for their existential moment, here and now. It is the only time that we can live, it is the only moment we are living. The past and the future are a creation of our imagination and even if we feel connected to past experiences, we don’t have the power to change them. However, in the ‘here and now’ we can change our perspective about it. When can develop our capacity to “be in the present”, then we no longer fear the future because once again the future is not there. Once this is achieved, our level of anxiety (which means worrying about the future) drops radically. 

Unfinished business- it means that all the past unfulfilled needs, will find a way to come back in the present moment so that you can “finish” the situation. In a daily life, we can easily see this when people change partners, jobs and even the living country and find themselves facing “the same” kind of troubled relationships.


EMDR- (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a method that helps people who suffers from the syndrome of post traumatic events. Also, indicated for:

Other “traumas”, for example people who lived many years exposed to an environment of violence.

Coping with grief and loss (death, divorce, loss of a job), when the “normal process” of coping with these losses takes longer than normal.

For treating fears whose origins are found in the childhood traumas. For example, fear of speaking in public.

It is also helpful for improving results in exams, treating the fear of failure in one hand and in the other hand, it helps increasing the client’s natural resources.

Guided visualization

How does it work? After a moment of relaxation (eyes closed, taking deep breaths, sitting comfortably) the client is asked to follow the scenarios proposed by the therapist.

When? - In case of conflicts: When you have a choice to make but you are not sure which direction to take; To cope with resentful feelings; When the client is procrastinating; It also works as reprograming the brain and your behaviour for a new attitude that you want in your life; And finally, I use guided visualization to CLEAN the inner world of the daily accumulated stress emotions.
