Dear all, I am seeking for some help or advice. I have moved out of Luxembourg and had my handover of the (rental) apartment with my landlord. There were only two small flaws detected by the landlord which is also recorded in the handover agreement i.e. inventory list. Now after numerous requests of my guarantee deposit, my landlord told me that apparently the new tenant had complained that the walls need to be repainted, the washing machine is broken and the apartment needs a professional cleaning. My landlord wants to deduct all of that from my deposit. I find this outrageous as this was not what we agreed on the handover date. What can I do? What is the Luxembourgish law regarding these additional not agreed costs? Thank you and best regards LTW
Morning all, I was wondering if anyone had taken out one of the Sky packages from POST. They have several channels which seem to be the same as ours, aswel as having the exact same programming schedule (i.e. Sky Sports, Sky Movies, Nat Geo Wild etc), aswell as some other channels which are quite clearly German Are the channels such as Sky Sports 1,2 & Sky Movies etc broadcast in English? Many thanks for your help with a potentially stupid question
Dear all, I am looking for someone who could fix our sofas. The kids have jumped on them one too many times and the center support under the sofa has come undone. Do you know of someone who could fix them? They are leather sofas of very good quality so I would like to fix them rather than buy new ones? Thanks, Heather
hi, I just moved to Luxembourg and rented flat, but.... I have an issue and I do not know who could I consult with regards to it. shortly: before I signed a lease contract, I was told several times (an I have a whitneas) that I can change some of the furniture and that landlord agreed to proceed. But after I moved in, the agent told me that instructions from landlord brohibit to change anything in the flat. And now for 1,5 months they just ignore my calls or emails. are there any customers' rights protection services or smith like that, so I could write a complaint at least? I'm wandering if anything could be done.... thank you!

Hello, I am a 22 year old Franco-British student currently in the first year of my postgraduate degree (Masters in Management and Business Administration) and I am looking for a furnished room in a house/flat near to where I will be working (Gare centrale) in Luxembourg. I am very calm, easy going, tidy and trustworthy and I have previous experience of house sharing having shared a flat for the past two years. I am very interested in an arrangement where I could help out in the household with chores, babysitting, dog walking, cooking, cleaning etc. in exchange for a room or lower rent. I have lived in England for 10 years and France for 12 so I am more than happy to speak either English or French with you depending on your preference, and help any expats learn French or English. If you have children/teenagers (from primary to Lycée) I can also offer English, French, Maths, History, Geography, after school lessons in the evenings and at weekends. (I have previous tutoring experience) I am also interested in any furnished studios that are for rent. I will be coming to Luxemburg for a full 6 months during the time of a paid internship in Finance from 15/06/2015 until 15/12/2015. I am cheerful and positive person who enjoys sports (running, horse riding, skiing) and cooking. I would be very keen to discuss any room availabilities you currently have available, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. A friend is coming next month to visit us and asked whether we would know if there is an auction house in Luxembourg open to the public, where he can go and find antique furniture to ship back to the US. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't any, but perhaps in Germany or Lorraine?
I have found an apartment I would like to move to in Luxembourg and am in discussion with the landlord (owner) about the rental contract. One are a that confuses me is a potential conflict between the contract term - where the owner wants 3 years - and what is included as a rental reassessment period - which the owner states is governed by Luxembourgish law as being every 2 years. That makes me wonder - if I sign a 3-year contract and the owner puts the rent up after two, can I get out?
