The 10th anniversary edition of CinEast, the Central and Eastern European Film Festival in Luxembourg, presents a wide selection of some of the best recent films produced in 19 countries of the former Eastern Bloc.
Between 5 and 22 October more than 60 feature and 40 short films of all genres will be screened at the Cinémathèque, Neimënster, Ciné Utopia and many other venues in and around Luxembourg.
Around thirty special guests (directors, actors, producers) will attend and meet the festival audiences. Various accompanying events will enrich the festival programme, including musical highlights such as the concert of the Hungarian world music group Besh o droM (7/10, Melusina), CinEast 10th anniversary party with films, quiz, food and the live performance of the Estonian folk rock band Svjata Vatra (14/10, Rotondes), live soundtrack to the silent film The Undesirable by the Polish jazz ensemble Semi-Invented Trio (18/10, Cinémathèque) and finally the Closing party with the concert of the Antwerp Gipsy-Ska Orchestra (21/10, Melusina).
Don’t miss the photography exhibition Making a Difference (5-30/10, Neimënster), which invites visitors to discover people and projects striving to move the society forward as well as thematic evenings, gastronomic events, debates etc.
