Event Details

At the approach of the hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Paris Commune (1871) Carnyx en Scène performed a show that retraces this brief period of the History of France and the International Workers Movement through 25 songs including The time of the cherries and the International in polyphony.

Thanks to the friendly assistance of Mr. Henri Wehenkel, a Luxembourg historian, we learned that some Luxembourgers had participated alongside the Parisian Communards in this bloody struggle for social progress.

From this meeting was born a song entitled Exiles Luxembourgeois , alongside other songs in tribute to Louise Michel or Victor Hugo who also has a link with Luxembourg.
