I'm new to Lyon.  I'm studying French and therefore I'm able to legally work in France.  Unfortunately my level of French isn't good enough to work in a French speaking institution therefore I'm seeking work where I can utilize my English skills.  Does anyone have any advice as to where I can search for work?  In Paris, there is a magazine called the FUSAC.  There are also jobs posted at the American Church and other English establishments.  Can I find anything similar in Lyon?   Thank you.

Using this website which has worked for friends https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html my concern is that I'm currently living in France...any advice on whether this website will still get me the correct Visa, and where to look if not? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am writing an essay on the subject of the integration of British expatriates in France. I have created a short survey for my research. If you are British and live in France, I would be extremely grateful if you could complete this survey online here: British expatriates in France survey. It will only take a couple of minutes and all responses are anonymous. If you wish to know the results of the survey, or have any questions about my research, do not hesitate to include questions and your email address in one of the text boxes in the survey. Thank you for your time and input, Eva.

I am coming over from virtually the west coast so according to the gps be coming in just under geneva and across through mountain (?) to Morzine. What are the roads like? and infact what are the legalities of say chains, winter tyres etc, as I have to consider all this so I can reply to the couple.   Thanks in advance for your advise

The secondary school that our daughter will go to next year has refused to offer a vegetarian option for her at their canteen.  An internet petition has recently been launched by MP Yves Jego, mayor of Chalon-sur-Saône, to campaign for the right to a vegetarian school dinner option. The petition has already gained 130 000 signatures out of a desired 150 000. If you feel in agreement, please would you sign the petition and then share the link on your social media networks.  https://www.change.org/p/pour-une-alternative-v%C3%A9g%C3%A9tarienne-obligatoire-dans-les-cantines-scolaires  ps  I was questioned on another Anglo Info whether I was 'forcing' my views on my child. Of course not, I replied as I am not even vegetarian, just an occasional free range meat eater, it is my daughter who has chosen for herself from her own experience and what she has read and she does not want the school to force her to eat meat.

Hi y'all, Advice on the cheapest location, in/around Lyon, for replacement  printer cartridges (cartouches), preferably NOT HP original, would be appreciated. Is there anywhere that does refills while you wait? Cheers-sun again soon. Keith

Hey all.. so this is a shot in the dark buuut... I am seeking an alternative, holistic program (for myself/adults) to learn natural approaches to therapy. This can be energy work, talk therapy, psychotherapy, transpersonal therapy, counselling, etc. Any thoughts or suggestions of where to look? The google search is a bit endless, I sure could use some direction :) Thanks much!

Having difficulties finding a job, can anyone help? Hi everyone, I came to Lyon as an exchange student at the beginning of the year to finish my degree.  I now have a degree in Law and Arts and am looking for a full-time job.  I have a good level of French but am not yet fluent, ideally I would like a job in the field of law, but I would also love to be a nanny, English teacher, receptionist or something along those lines.   If anyone knows of any jobs going or has any suggestions of where to look, I would be really grateful.  I have been looking for a while and have come to nothing.  Thanks!  Samantha

We've started a group for writers in France, open to all - fiction, non-fiction, plays, poetry. It's strictly non-commercial - just a way of creating a community to provide mutual support and encouragement. We've just created a forum, so come over to Writers in France to get the conversation going.

We're moving to Lyon from Australia in the next few weeks and neither of our 3 kids speak any French. They're G12, B7, G5. How long did it take other people's children to learn French and make friends? We can't afford the fees for the big international schools so are looking at other options. We have already looked at Ecully/Tassin areas and quite liked them.  Could anyone give me any advice or help please about these areas? Thanks Emma
