Do I have to keep going back to the doctor for a prescription when my current medivation runs out. I've been diagnosed with an over-active thyroid and have been given tablets to control it. The only thing is that a pot only lasts a month. I don't want to have to keep going back to the doctors every month to get more.

It's about time I had my eyes tested again as my lenses don't seem to be strong enough anymore. Can anyone recommend an English-speaking optician anywhere near Madrid (will travel!).

Dear All, I am trying to help a friend of mine, newly arrived to Madrid,  find an English speaking GP in a public health centre. This gentleman is in his late eighties and requires medication which should be available to him despite being a British pensioner.  He is living in northern Madrid but is willing to cross the city in order to go to a doctor's surgery where he can converse in English with a medical professional. Your help is much appreciated.

Good afternoon, I am a sports masseur from Wales, now living in Madrid. I am struggling to find any work here and am wondering if anyone has any knowledge about specifics regarding licensing or registering as a sports masseur and in general what is people's opinion on going self employed here in Spain. My Spanish is improving and I am pretty well qualified, and fairly well experienced in the UK, and was a member of The Sports Massage Association. I can't find an equivalent here either. Many thanks.

Hello, I am a BSc (Hons) trained Nutritional Therapist based in central Madrid. www.csnutrition.org Let me tell you alittle bit about my approach and how I might be able to help you. Nutritional Therapy is the fully evidence-based and scientific application of how food, nutrients and lifestyle can affect our well-being. Using an in-depth knowledge of biochemistry, Nutritional Therapists aim to recognise where certain external factors (lifestyle, food, environment) may be impacting detrimentally on our health and endeavour to correct these imbalances through healthy eating plans and, where necessary, supplementation. Nutritional therapists manage each client as an individual, recognising that we are all biochemically unique and as such, must be approached with unique dietary and lifestyle recommendations. What works for one person may well not work for the next and this individuality is the core philosophy of nutritional therapy. Nutritional therapy can help with a wide range of health complaints or to alleviate the symptoms of health concerns. Using a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances to understand how these may contribute to symptoms, this approach enables nutritional therapists to work with individuals to help support the body towards maintaining health. Nutritional therapy is a recognised complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with conditions such as fatigue or low energy, skin conditions, digestive discomfort and IBS amongst others, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing. Please contact me for more information.
