ANZMEX is the Australia, New Zealand & Mexico Business Council. It is a trilateral business platform to provide a forum and support services to explore and promote collaboration between Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. The framework it offers promotes relevant contacts and information exchange, develops sector interest groups for individuals and organizations, and provides practical support services for all members. The Business Council consists of six business sectors; Agribusiness, Education and Culture, Energy, Finance and Infrastructure, International Trade, and Mining, and we collaborate and work closely with the trade offices of our three countries; Australian Trade Commission, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, and ProMéxico.
Whilst the focus of the Business Council is to provide services and events to members, there are often events of general interest to the wider community. ANZMEX promotes these events via Angloinfo to enable a diverse range of people to participate and enjoy the networking opportunities provided.
2016 is an exciting year for ANZMEX Business Council.
The results and opportunities will emerge from the recently agreed Trans Pacific Partnership, the free trade agreement that includes New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, and nine other key economies.
The year will mark 50 years of Diplomatic Relations between Australia and Mexico, and there are wide range of business and cultural events planned to mark this historic milestone.
Each year the Business Council organizes and promotes a wide range of events covering all sectors. Each quarter they host a debate as part of the ANZMEX Energy Debate Series ©, which is a new type of event in Mexico. It is designed to get to the heart of Mexico’s energy issues, where leading experts defend and debate their position, questions get answered directly, topics get addressed frankly, and participates get a chance to vote on what they think is the best solution for key energy challenges.
With the growing investment relationship between Australia and Mexico, ANZMEX will also host the inaugural Australia – Mexico Infrastructure Finance Forum (AMIFF) in 2016. This timely and unprecedented event will facilitate dialog, information exchange and professional liaison between key players in the Australian and Mexican pension funds and the infrastructure sector to highlight and explore opportunities.
During November, to celebrate the Melbourne Cup in Australia, which is one of the world’s largest and most celebrated horse races, ANZMEX hosts the ANZMEX Racing Week. Activities include a VIP Dinner at the Jockey Club in the Hipodromo de las Americas in Mexico, and an afternoon at the races in which ANZMEX members and invited guests enjoy an afternoon of networking, great food and wine and a chance to see the horse races of the Hipodromo live in action.
Another special event is the Taste of ANZMEX series that include courses, tastings, and product launches, which provide networking opportunities and showcase the best of food and wine from the three member countries.
