Chateau de Foix
11th century castle which was never attacked and so remains intact. Closed in January and Mondays and Tuesdays from November to April. Overlooks the centre of Foix (09).
Chateau de Lavardens
Dating from 1620, the castle has been renovated since 1960. Frequently used for exhibitions and events. Open 10:30-12:30 and 14:00-17:00 (10:00-19:00 in July and August). Closed 15 January to 15 February. In Lavardens (32).
Chateau de Loubens
Vaulted cellars, grain attics and furnished rooms can be visited in the 16th century castle. Open Sundays and holidays in May, June and September to 11th November; July: 1st and last Sundays and August: Thursday to Sunday. 14:30-18:30. In Loubens (31).
Maison natale du Marechal Foch
Souvenirs, documents and private objects of Marechal Foch. Building bought by the State during the second World War and classed as an historical monument in 1938. Located 2, rue de la Victoire, Tarbes. Open 09:00-12:00 every day except Tuesday.
Chateau de Cassaigne
Built in 1247, the castle vineyards now produce wine and armagnac. Open daily for visits which include the vaulted kitchens, the armoury and the cellars, followed by a tasting session. Open 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00. In Cassaigne (32).
Usine MAP
Created in 1986 and specialising in coverings for space and high technology industries, specifically satellites. 2 hour group guided visits offered by appointment only. Located in Pamiers (09).
Abbaye de Flaran
Built in 1151 by Cistercian monks, the Abbey is now a cultural centre. Visit possible of the church, cloisters and dormatory. Open 09:30-12:30 and 14:00-18:00 (in July and August 09:30-19:00). In Valence sur Baise (32).

Built in 1863 with 370 steps and climbing to 35 metres. Set at the foot of DArtagnans statue in Auch, Gers.
Chateau du Mauriac
Marriage ceremonies and receptions, seminars, conferences and parties in the Chateau, owned by the painter Bernard Bistes, its Cave, gardens and parc. In Senouillac, Tarn (81).
Cathedrale Sainte Marie dAuch
Listed as a World Heritage Site and dating from 1489. Renowned for its large stained glass windows. Open October to March (09:30-12:00 and 14:00-17:00); April to September (08:30-12:00 and 14:00-18:00). July and August (08:30-18:30).
Le Village Gaulois
The Gallic village is a natural site of archaeological reconstruction set in 9 hectares. It contains a number of traditional dwellings and in the summer there are demonstrations of industry and craft. Open Easter to November. Located Saint-Julien (31)

A group of buildings including a castle depicting many aspects of life in a bygone age. Open 15:00-19:00 (June and September, Sundays only; July and August, Thursday to Sunday) Groups all year round through advance booking. In Latour (32).

Fortified 18th century village with castle, museum, medieval architecture. Open everyday except Wednesdays from January to April from 14:00-!7:00. May and June from 11:00-19:00 and September from 11:00-17:30, October to December from 14:00-17:00.
Chateau de Monluc
16th century castle with vaulted cellars. Restored throughout turbulent history. Open from February-December Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00-12:00;15:00-19:00 and Sunday from 15:00-19:00
Chateau du Busca Maniban
Dating fron the 17th century, the castle offers the possibility of visiting guard and armoury rooms, the kitchen and the chapel. Open April to November (14:00-18:00, closed Sundays); other times by appointment. Located in Mansencome (32).
Tour de Termes
The tower from a medieval castle. There is a museum of Gascon Panache and medieval reenactments take place in summer. Open October to May (14:00-18:00, closed Tuesdays); June to September (10:00-19:30, closed Tusday mornings). Terme dArmagnac (32).
Abbaye de Saint-Michel
X111 century Abbey found in Gaillac, Tarn. Vaulted galleries exhibiting archealogical collections, scared art and wine legends. Glass and earth productions, artifacts from Gaillac churches. Open 09:30-13:00 and 14:00-19:00.
Mediaval village built around a fortified church with its traditional bell tower. Visit the Saint-Anasthase fountain. Located in the Ariege.
Usine Aubert-Duval Fortech
The first metallurgical factory in Europe. Forging and stamping using aluminium, titanium and other metals destined for the Aeronautical, space, defence and energy secteurs. Located in Pamiers, Ariege.
Collegiate Church of La Romieu
Listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the church dates from the 14th century. Open October to April (10:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00); May to September (10:00-19:00), Sundays afternoon only. In the centre of La Romieu (32).
