Hi everyone My wife and I hope to retire to France in a year or two. We are not yet in a position to buy a property. Having scanned several web-sites and seen some utterly delightful properties we are wondering if anyone who is planning to sell their home, but finds the market a little slow, might consider renting it to us for a year or so until the market strengthens.   This would bring you in some welcome revenue while not taking your property off the market. And for us provide a chance to see if the region, and the property suits us before we commit absolutely.   We are looking for a house in the country near but not necessarily in a village or small town. 2 Beds and a bath with garden and garage and ideally in reasonable distance (around 90 mins?) of an airport or ferry terminal   If this seems something that you might be interested in do please get in touch.   Richard and Jude

Hello People,   Having now spent far too much time attempting to compare services offered, it seems that B &You box internetbox looks like a good offer. It offers VoIP calls as part of what looks like good value at 15.99 Euros monthly. It seems that one does not need a fixed line rental with this method? Just wondering if anyone has experience of this company and if not, then experience of using VoIP? The time has come to make a decision and I need some good advice that is not too technical.....as would never get my head around more than collecting a box and plugging it in!   Thank you.

any ideas ? I have been paying my electric bill by monthly debit now for several years...however our usage has decreased as our kids are leaving home but the monthly debit hasnt changed...whilst appreciating we do get a rebate at the end of the year, we want to go back to paying quarterly. We have contacted the Electricité de France on a number of occasions, and they are refusing to let us go back to quarterly  payments, but will let us reduce the amount we pay by monthly debits. Anyone out there had similar problems, if yes how was it resolved. ?

We are planning on moving from the UK to the Toulouse (South or East of Toulouse and within approximately 1 hour drive) and we will be exploring some areas in the next few weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations for Estate Agents in the area, because we will be in the area during August to look at properties/potential towns etc. Thank you Andy

Each and every day we are finding small black beetles on our lounge floor They appear very quickly altough they seem very lethargic until you try to tread on them, then they start to move. They are very tough and take some scrunching. We suspect they are coming down our chimney. Any one have an idea of what they are and how to be rid of them? They are very resistant to traditional insect sprays Thanks

Need a reliable man with a van or remover for our 3 bedroomed house removal in September.   Both houses are in the Gers and the distance is only a short  one, of 20 miles/ 32kms.  Need about 30 cubic meters of space. There's plenty of helpers available and level carry. This request is due to a serious accident which has altered the planned provisions. Any sensible recommendations or suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you.

There is a well in our garden that has had a concrete cap put on it. Now, it would be useful if we could use the water in it. This afternoon I eased the cap which is just resting on soil to one side. Unfortunately, some rubbish fell in. The water is about 20m down and does not seem very deep, perhaps a few cms. The shaft is nicely lined - what a job it must have been digging it! Are we wasting our time with this or should we expect little water at this mie of year? Any thoughts most welcome.

Has anyone had any direct experience of/with large scale solar panels? When I say large scale I'm talking approx 1 hectare - now I can hear one or two saying "thats not large scale" but it is for me! I have a field on the very edge of a small hamlet, open aspect, low production value but under the SAFER agricultural protection, and fully south facing. The parcel of land is one piece of three, all owned by different people adding up to no more than 3 hectares in total. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss, either on line or off line. Thanks

I am intending to move from the Deux Sevres to the Pyrenees. I am looking for a short or long term rental, 2 beds, heating, maybe small garden in the areas of Tarascon/Ax les Thermes/ Lavelanet. From Dec 2015/ Jan 2016. This is so I can look at the area in detail before committing. Grateful of any replies. Thanks.

Hello,    My partner has just purchased a house near Lavelenet. The previous owner has given the meter readings for gas and electricity. He has tried to transfer all online but without success. The GDF Suez La Dolce Vita website is not easy to negotiate. Any help very much appreciated.     Thank you,    Maureen

Our Family live near Aubeterre sur Le Dronne. We are planning to make the move and while it's nice to be near loved ones we don't want to be too near!! We are looking at properties with bites and want to run a long season with the options of outdoor pursuits, bikes, canoes, near to skiing. However more importantly we want a healthy veg garden. Dads is now looking like the Sahar, Any recommendations for property with land that would be fertile and affordable....all advice gratefully received as newly looking
