The Stones that Speak Exhibition in Albi (81)

from Mar 1st 2017 to Apr 2nd 2017

The Stones that Speak in the rooms of Hotel Rochegude 41 avenue du Maréchal Foch, 81000 Albi from 1st March to 2nd April from 13h to 18h (closed on Saturdays).     The collective "À fleur de temps" brings together three artists: Nadine Arrieta (visual explorer), Catherine LeRoux (painter, graphic designer and photographer) and Maité Pébayre (choreographic artist, teacher of Tai ji quan and Qi gong).    In 2003, they moved to the Lijiang City (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) located in the northwest of Yunnan Province of China.    Featuring footprints of the culture of the ethnic minority "Naxi", this old city is such that it was at the time of the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
An inspiring setting in which our artists could appreciate the landscapes, the local customs, exchange with artists, discover the art of writing dongba pictograms ... but also feel the fragility of the moment and the efforts of the People "Naxi" to preserve its culture.
As a result, this exhibition, entitled "Les pierres qui parlent" (The Stones That Speak), showcases through various sensitivities and techniques a common work witnessing their adventure.
