Guest Speakers Provide Extraordinary Learning
Providing students with their insights and extraordinary learning opportunities, guest speakers on campus this past year included civil rights activist and historian Claybourne Carson, founder of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute, acclaimed writer and New York Times columnist Timothy Egan (photo) who discussed a variety of world events including the US Presidential election, mathematician, author and journalist Alex Bellos who shared his unique math approach (numbers through culture and time), and award-winning vocalist Nicole Taylor and concert pianist Debra Takakjian who together presented the African American Spiritual in February- Black History Month- to help celebrate this influential genre of music.
