Not after dark - as the Bois are a notorious area for prostitution at night...

Check out the Paris Cycling Group website on MeetUp, we're an informal club that rides out regularly to Versailles, Chevreuse and other areas around and outside Paris on weekends.

Hi 1234.  I've never heard of prostitutes accosting cyclists after, or before, dark.  Furthermore, protitution is not limited to the suburbs.  Then again, maybe I'm wrong and if that is the case, I'm sure that you will enlighten me.  However and if I'm correct, I'm not sure of the relevancy of your comment.

Paris is great for cycling Afowler, Enjoy!

The prostitutes won't  acost you, and they are there, day and night. I see them all the time when I am biking around there.

However, it's bloody dark in the Bois at night, if you go off the main tracks.

According to the local bylaws you're not supposed to walk in the Bois de Boulogne after dark. The police can arrest you and from time to time unfortunate or naïve people have been known to suffer the consequences and you get to hear about it in the local newspaper. Those engaged in prostitution there obviously know what the risks are and how to avoid them. I don't know if there are many cyclists that would go off along the paths there at night time but I imagine that it wouldn't be a very good idea.
