Hi everyone. just a shot in the dark, but i, along with 2 other guys train an over 18 ladies rugby side in st. jean d`angely, called the raca z`elles we play rugby sevens. we are looking for new players to join our group for the upcoming season. you don`t need to have played before, and we have all shapes and sizes!! just look at the coaches, as we are a mix of short and tunky , tall and round!!if you are interested in having fun and improving french, plus meeting a few new faces (a sociable bunch), please feel free to contact me for further details.
HiMy partner and I are moving to la Dorat in a couple of months, and we were wondering if there were any social groups we could join like French lessons or walking [have a dog] or gardening groups and my partner interested in model railways. Any information would be great. Just pm me on firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi All,I hope this reaches everyone who has expressed interest in playingwalking football and just in case can you pass this new development on to any potential interested party.I have been in touch with the Mairie at Aulnay, who put me in touch with the football club in the town, as the five-a-side football pitch that I was interested in belongs to them. There are other groups that use the facility but not many and we would be welcome to use the pitch at no cost! We would have to individually pay something to make sure we are insured and that US d'Aulnay don't become liable for any injuries we may receive! So, I propose to finalise everything with them in the New Year and tostart playing shortly afterwards! So moderation at Christmas please and let’s play in the New Year.RegardsTed Sellwood
Hi, I am arriving on Friday and wanted to know if there is a suitable watering hole that is likely to be showing the Wasps v Exeter Chiefs rugby game on Saturday . Somewhere in the Sauzé-Vaussais /Chef Boutonne/ Ruffec area. Can't possibly miss it and the wife would be disappointed if I refuse to come out. Cheers
Hi,We are about to move in to our new French property and it is bounded by a Category1 River.I understand that it is a trout river and that fishing styles are restricted.Help please! Is it fly only?If so is that for a particular part of the season or for the whole season? i.e. is it possible to fish at anytime with a float not using maggot or worm (i.e. sweetcorn or similar?).I've searched high and low and can't find any answers, so any advice will be appreciated. Thanks & Regards,GreenHead.
Looking for an indoor Pistol / Rifle Range or Archery Range that I can join as a member, I have been told there is one in the vicinity (Ruffec), but all attempts get make contact have failed. I used to Competition Shoot back in the UK, and held my Firearms Certificate before all the rules changed, since then I have had to shoot in Florida, and frankly Its a Bit far...Anyone Know or Can offer up contact details much appreciated
Having received no response the last time I'll try again and hope this time there is some interest! We have some ageing football nuts around the Dampierre sur Boutonne/Aulnay/St Jean d'Angely/Niort area, who would liked to get involved with walking football? Is there any played in the immediate area?If you live locally and would like to be involved please get in touch?Regards Ted
