Musee de la Mine de Cap Garonne
Mine and museum at Cap Garonne for micro-minerals and copper. Exhibitions of underground formations and demonstrations of traditional mining techniques. Guided tours last an hour. Wheelchair access. At 1000 chemin du Baou Rouge in Le Pradet (83).
The Sainte-Baume Museum of Man and the Environment
Exhibition of authentic artisan tools and household objects. Open April till October from 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00. Then November to April from 14:00-17:00. At Plan dAups in Sainte-Baume (83).
The Museum of Prehistory
The largest museum of its kind in Europe, featuring over a million years of the history of the area. Snack bar, hot and cold meals available. Just outside the village of Quinson (04).
Municipal Museum of Draguignan
Houses a collection of European art from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Also has an exhibition of regional history and archaeology, antique furniture and arms. At 9 Rue de la Republique in Draguignan (83).
Musee dArcheologie Sous-marine
Exhibition of ancient objects found on dives in the Saint Raphael bay. Open from 09:00. At Rue des Templiers in Saint Raphael (83).
Musee de lAnnonciade
Exhibitions of modern art, houses in a 16th century chapel. Artists include Matisse, Bonnard, and Derain. At Quai Epi in St Tropez.
Musee de la Mine
A Provencal mine museum with a history of coal from its formation to the last working mine in Provence. Closed on Tuesdays and from 21st December to 14th January. Guided visits available, first at 09:45. At Puits Hely dOissel in Greasque (13).
