Hi my name is Freya, I represent a Spanish rescue association and one of our dogs is missing in Orange, Vaucluse. This is extremely distressing as we are not there to search for him and I am reaching out to your community to help us find him. He escaped during transport to Holland and is now alone and the single sighting we have had of him claims he is injured. Please is there anyone out there willing to help search for him? We have 3 vounteers but it is not enough. We really need help. He is just 6 months old and a scared puppy after suffering a not very nice early life. PLease please get in touch if you can help me Thanks, Freya firstname.lastname@example.org

Hi I would like to know if anyone has any info on how to get my dog best way to UK around April 1 - 6th. I would prefer to travel by road car or van than put him on a plane and come with him myself . I can help with the driving if needed and will of course pay the necessary fees . My own car has just broken down and will not make the trip. Drop off can be at Dover Calais or Surrey Sussex..? Family crisis and I wont leave my dog. Many thanks. Tel - 06 12 51 74 08
Dear Ones: I'm a professional American author hoping to spend a month in Provence to finish some book research. Ideal location is in or near Antibes or St. Jeannet, where the book is set. I am an experienced dogsitter and housesitter and absolutely adore dogs. I write for a dog magazine, so I know my stuff and treat all animals with compassion, kindness and care. I would love to care for your pet/s in your home during the month of March 2015 while you are away. Happy to pay rent for the privilege!
Hi, is it just me or is anybody else feeling we are being "used", "abused" and "taken for a ride" with Cannel crossing charges for our pets? I can book a car with up to 9 people in it on a channel crossing for as litle as £63 rtn., but put one dog in the car and they want another £30. For what, the dog stays in the car, it is easily identified by a micro chip, no trying to match up an old photo to a dishevelled face like my passport, I get cafe, toilets, rest ares at the port, duty free shops, musak, lounges with comfy chairs etc on board while the poor old dog has to sit down in the car deck locked in the car. Doesn't seem fair to me, even with five people in the car that's only £12.60 each, with all those facilities for our comfort and the poor old dog, or cat, is charged £30 with nothing laid on.. no it doesn't seem fair to me. Now it is not DEFRA who charge the fee, I've checked, it is solely down to the channel crossing companies. Why? Is the answer just greed and "because they can?" and is there anything we can do about getting a better deal?
I have changed my horse's feed recently and have 9 sacks of Baileys Alfalfa plus Oil (20kg) surplus to requirements. The expiry date is end May 2015, and it has been stored well since delivery in November. If anyone is interested please let me know. I paid 24 euros per sack. Make me an offer! Can deliver if necessary subject to distance and cost/diesel etc. I'm between Carces and Lorgues. Cheers Jjane
Lovely gelding, Anglo-Arab, Born in 1996 (Great-Grandson of "Mill Reef") His companion is leaving him shortly, so we are looking for a new home for him for his retirement. He is respectful and a real gentleman. We want him to live out his days in the company of other horses and graze peacefully in ample land. His well-being is of the utmost importance to us. He is used to other animals and children. I can send photos upon request. Please email Amanda for further info.
One of my Ragdoll kittens, who left home to live with a delightful couple, suddenly fell seriously ill and an xray revealed one withered kidney and a "normal" one that wasn't working enough to rid his little body of the toxins that were poisoning him. One of the vets suggested euthanasia as he was dying anyway, but the Good Soul on duty that weekend couldn't bear to and lo and behold the poor mite started to improve. After 10 days of care the new parents decided that they couldn't bear to risk him dying on them and I collected him from their vets last Friday, naturally paying all the bills. My question is this : I've read a lot of feline sites on the internet as to what is and isn't good for the health and well-being one kidney cats – does anyone have any hands-on experience of this? So many conflicting do's and don'ts around. He's still on lots of meds to support kidney function and to ccounterract their detrimental effect on his intestines, and he's not clear and safe yet, but he's beginning to be as naughty as a normal kitten which is a good sign, I hope. Thanks for any helpful advice.
Hello everyone. You may have seen my last post asking if anyone knew of saddle fitters or had a saddle for sale. I have tried many different saddles and always seem to have the same problems, so I have decided to take a different approach. I have contacted Balance International and asked for a consultation with Birgitta Bergsten, their representative in France. She will probably be in the region in the early part of July, although no firm date is available yet. If anyone is interested in having a consultation for either a saddle fitting or just for information and furthering their knowledge in this area, please pm me. She lives in the Lot, near Cahors so doesn't come this way often! If you don't know what Balance saddles are, here's their info brochure. From my point of view, their approach addresses all the issues I have had with saddles now and in the past. Wish i had known about them for my last horse! Youll have to cut and paste this into your browser. or have a look at their website. http://www.balanceinternational.com/balance/Files/9233234.pdf Also, i must point out that I have no connection with Balance International; I'm just sharing information and an opportunity for others to learn about this method of saddling. Regards Jj
I live about two kilometres outside L'Isle sur la Sorgue, quiet area, plenty of space, big woodburner and electric heating plus ensuite room. I am looking for someone to stay and take care of my pets whilst I am away. I have a friendly and energetic dog who likes a good walk ever day and seven cats who pretty much look after themselves but obviously need feeding. Someone who has experience of cats and/or dogs would be great.
Hi I am looking for a dog sitter for my 3 lhasa Apso dogs, 2 female, I male (neutered). Either at our home or at the sitters. They can be split up so if anyone can look after one or two that wouldn't be a problem. The dates are from 11th to 19th July. We live in Vinon-sur-Verdon. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Jackie
I desperately need a dressage saddle for my ex steeplechaser TB. What on earth do people do here about getting a proper saddle fitter? They don't seem to exist! If anyone knows of a saddle fitter who can bring a selection of saddles, please let me know. Otherwise, I guess I have to try buying privately, so if you have a dressage saddle for sale, 17.5", medium to medium wide, high wither suitable for TB, and in good condition, please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you ! Jane ps would also like a GP saddle, so same applies.
Just popping over from Poitou-Charentes to let you know that a new Facebook group has been formed to bring together animal lovers who would like to help out at their local animal refuge. If you already volunteer for your local animal refuge, or are interested in joining others in helping by walking the dogs or cuddling cats or by collecting and delivering much needed food and bedding, please join us: https://www.facebook.com/groups/433692586732464/ We plan to develop the network and there will be a website in the New Year with lots of information about volunteering, fostering and where you can make a difference, so if you don't use facebook but are interested in being involved, please get in touch, letting us know how you'd like to help.
