A new campaign group has recently formed in the UK called WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality Campaign) to "seek fair transitional arrangements for all women born on or after 6th April 1951 who have unfairly borne the burden of the increase to the State Pension Age (SPA). Hundreds of thousands of women have had significant changes imposed on them with a lack of appropriate notification. The 1995 Conservative Government’s Pension Act included plans to increase women’s SPA to 65, the same as men’s. Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI), agree with equalisation, but don’t agree with the unfair way the changes were implemented – with little/no personal notice (1995/2011 Pension Acts), faster than promised (2011 Pension Act), and no time to make alternative plans. Retirement plans have been shattered with devastating consequences." A crowdfunding exercise raised enough to pay for legal advice and barristers are currently considering potential action. A petition has been signed by more than 21,000 people since the 20th October. Yesterday it was announced that the Parliamentary Select Committee for Work and Pensions will be seeking submissions from women born in the 50's. "The Work and Pensions Committee have launched an inquiry into the new State Pension introduced in April 2016. Concerns have been raised that many of those who will be affected by the changes do not know enough about the changes or exactly what they will mean for their pensions." More details here http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/work-and-pensions-committee/news-parliament-2015/state-pension-launch-15-16/ I am sure that there are many of you (like me) who are affected by these changes. You may want to consider signing the petition and asking your family and friends to do the same herehttps://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/110776 You can find more information about the campaign and read some of the heartbreaking stories about women who have been left without the money they are entitled to herehttps://www.facebook.com/WASPI-Women-Against-State-Pension-Inequality-Campaign-877054125688402/?fref=ts Please pass this information to the women you know who were born in the 50's!

I was hoping that somebody here could tell me how can i copy my email history (outlook 2010) from my pc to my new laptop? Are different windows versions a problem, and is there a way to sychronize on the both computers?  Thank you so much

I have been seeing a great deal of positive news about Bernie Sanders lately. I am not from the US but it would interest me to know what the feeling amongst US citizens is about Bernie Sanders. Does he have a real and fair chance against the other candidates who seem to have a lot more financial support ?

It has been a while since I had my last job interview and the other day I came across this interesting atricle about how to prepare for a specific difficult question interviewers can throw at you and apparently very few people are prepared for...  What was the toughest question you had during a job interview?

Hi, my PC hard drive crashed and I need to rerplace it. I heard a lot of stories about piracy so I'm a little weary about buying in any store but on the other hand the "good" stores would probably charge double the price. Where can I go to buy a new hard drive and not get scammed?   thx

Expats are a naturally intrepid and resourceful bunch. You have to be pretty adaptable to thrive in another country and have a sense of adventure to get you through the daily challenges. But even the most resilient expat needs something to remind them of home. Whether it's a childhood teddy bear, a particular brand of comfort food or a favourite TV programme - wherever in the world you live, it's nice to take a little bit of home with you. Along with our friends at British Corner Shop, we're offering you the chance to win 12 months' of shopping* so that you can order some of these #homecomforts direct to your front door. The winner will receive a £100 voucher every month to spend in British Corner Shop. You don't have to spend a thing to redeem your voucher and you can even use it to cover shipping. British Corner Shop don't just stock British goodies - Aussies can get their hands on staples like Vegemite, Kiwis can stock up on Milo and for Americans there is beef jerky and maple syrup galore. There are Scottish and Irish products too and there's even a Christmas shop for stocking up on goodies for the festive season. What better excuse to start filling your cupboards with familiar favourites such as Marmite, Heinz Baked Beans, Hershey Kisses, haggis and soda bread mix! How to Enter To enter this fabulous competition all you have to do is to share an interesting, surprising, funny or heart-warming picture of yourself with your own particular home comfort on our Facebook or Twitter Pages, along with the #homecomforts hashtag and a brief description of what your home comfort is and where you live. Make sure your entry reaches us by midnight (UTC) on 29 October as we'll select and announce the top five entries on 30 October. Then it's over to a public vote on our social media channels to decide on a winner! Voting will close at midnight (UTC) on 5 November. Your home comfort doesn't have to be a type of food - it can be anything that reminds you of home. Need some inspiration? Watch our competition trailer...

My wife and myself received a message on Whatsapp yesterday with a video...The messages came from two different US numbers unknown to us. the video was the same in both messages. We didn't tap to download because we were afraid it might download a virus... Anyone here who received this weird message on Whatsapp? It was probably just spam, but just to be sure: Is it even possible to send a virus disguised as a video? This is kiind of disappointing. Whatsapp was spam-free so far.

I stayed in Fatima Guesthouse,  : R. Gen. Venâncio Flôres, 555 - Leblon, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22441-090, Brasil Teléfono:+55 21 2259-9540 which was the worst experience in all my Brazilian stays (visited Brazil several times and traveled all over Brazil). I booked the room with Fatima directly, she had different prices on different sites, and when I asked for the price I saw on BB Brazil, she 'said' that price is not available anymore. I told her that I can pay 150RS/night. She emailed me that she had an 'alternative' room. She wrote: 'I have a alternative room. This alternative I can do R$160,00 for you per night without breackfast'. Nothing more. I saw a lot of good reviews so I thought it must be a good place... She sent me the address, but she couldnt tell me how to get there by bus, she told me to ask at the airport... (I thought she should know this.!) When I arrived it was Theresa who received me and she didnt speak English, she couldnt give me infos, she said to speak to Julia who will arrive in the night. Julia came, she seemed to be a sweet girl, she was proud of saying to be an actress...! The nights were horrible.. across the street there is a disco bar, the music so loud if you were trying to sleep inside a disco. The 'alternative' room, had NO door, basically the accommodation was in the living room! and there was just a wooden curtain. Of course NO key.... I thought ok, I do my best to resist as I had a busy schedule, and did not have time to look for another place. The week after I came back, hoping that would be less noisier during the week... NOPÉ! Music and Party every night... However I still did not say a word... But one night I woke up at 2 am as a young man and a young woman were screaming and fighting violantly in the living room just next to me... I called out por favor and please but they did not stop... I could not sleeep that night... and of course was very tired the next day... As I arrived to the 'Guesthouse' Julia was there, I mentioned here that I woke up the night before, due to the violant fight in the living room besides the noise after the disco.. She said she didnt hear it... I told her that I was really tired, and that I really would like to sleep during the night and that I was concerned about the fight in the living room. She completely changed and she said 'what do you want'? if you dont like it here, pack and leave! She also said that I can take the inside room, which is more expensive. I told her, that I just really need to sleep during the night, and that is what I paid for. I asked her whether she would like to sleep like that on her holiday? She couldnt answer. I told her that I cannot pay more, and that they should have advised that there is so much noise... She said that I am not happy, and she was getting more agressive and she screamed to LEAVE THE HOUSE NOW! I said that I was not leaving as I booked the room and I think I have the right to sleep. She was screaming that she would call the police. I asked her to call the police, as I thought I must have some consumer/tourist rights here. I asked her to give me an invoice or receipt for the monies I paid. She said, she doesnt give any receipt, this is a guesthouse, thats it. I asked her to write a paper of the amount I paid, but she refused. I asked her to call the famous woman Fatima, and she threatened me that Fatima now will make a big deal. OK. I spoke to Fatima, and explained her what happened and that I need to sleep during the night. Fatima got also very rude and told me to leave the house. I told her I wasnt going anywhere and I hang up on her and she was really an unpleasant and rude woman on the phone. Afterwards Julia started screaming to me 'fuck you, fuck you' you are crazy. I believe she was acting like in her soap operas. I was thinking this is certainly NOT the way to speak to your guests and not the way to solve a problem. I told her to call the police and I wasnt going anywhere. Suddenly she changed she started to cry, and she said really rudely to go to the other room... She was talking down to me if I was her servant (as probably she is used to treat their two lady servants at home). She started to cry more and she said I am so sorry. I was shocked. What is going on here? Well, certainly, this is not a place that I ever recommend to anyone. Fatima and Julia did not behave nicely with me even though I respected them and their house rules. I think guests DO have rights and should not be treated like this! I spoke to other guests as well staying there, and strangely all them them complained... (wondering how they get the good results..) As I stayed in the inside room, it was also noisy, and the other guests told me that the woke up or couldnt sleep every night from the noise. This is NOT a guesthouse, but a really very old apartment, where doors can hardly be closed, the shower works bad, very old. the kitchen is very old too, This is a place where rooms are rented out illegally and you do not get a receipt or a paper for the money you pay! This is illegal Brazil, with 2 rude and unpleasant woman. I never received any information (only maps were put in the room). The internet is very slow and very often does not work. Also, I found a lot of ants in the room. Not good! I think you can find better accommodation in Rio for less money! Dont go to Fatima Guesthouse! Go there if you like rude people and noisy places!
