Patrick Deudon Avocat

English-speaking lawyer established in the Riviera since 2001 with 17 years’ experience in serving international clients. Born in Dublin, qualified as a lawyer in 2001 I run a law firm with a strong experience in serving small and medium sized companies and expatriates, all over France and particularly in our region.

Specialized in business law, both in legal advice and litigation, with an emphasis on the following matters:

-       labor law (hiring, short or long term contracts, discipline, dismissal, etc.)

-       contract law (any kind of contract : business acquisition, rental agreements, mortgages, etc.)

-       commercial / business law  and relations (corporate law, terms and conditions, debt collection, etc.)

-       insolvency / bankruptcy procedures

I can handle cases everywhere in France and I have pleaded before more than 70 jurisdictions all over the country.

Living in a foreign country can indeed be an adventure and for expatriates (as for locals) working, owning a company or real estate can create legal issues.

Dealing with these in a different legal system and in a foreign language can be both stressful and time-consuming.

To be faced to those issues is difficult enough in one’s own language and legal system, so having a counsel able to explain French legal issues in English is essential.

As one cannot master every subtle aspects of the flourishing French legal system, I can provide advises in other fields of intervention and when necessary I work with a strong network of English speaking notaries, accountants and other qualified professionals.

My main office is settled in Nice and I have a satellite office in Le Cannet, but meetings can be also scheduled in my client’s offices or anywhere convenient.

Apart from my legal skills forged by solid experiences, I am reactive, and can be reached on cell phone anytime.

Of course, I speak English and, moreover, I understand how difficult being an expat can be some times - those are not minor assets to be able to explain French law and the French legal system to an English speaking clientele.

Born in 1974 in Dublin, Patrick Deudon studied law at the Faculty of law of Nice University and graduated with a masters degree with honours in 1997.

This was followed in 1998 by a further post-graduate legal degree, again with honours.

He took the bar examination in 2000 and qualified formally to practice as a lawyer on January 3rd, 2001.

He subsequently worked for four years as a junior lawyer in two of the most renowned law firms in Nice, specialising in bankruptcy procedures.

In 2004 he created the law firm FAURE & DEUDON focusing on small- and medium-sized businesses and foreign clients on the French Riviera and in Paris. The firm prided itself on its expertise and responsiveness to clients.

Since 2015, Maître Deudon has served his clients from within a multi-disciplinary legal practice in the centre of Nice, to the benefit of clients located right across the south of France.
