Philippe Roessler was born in 1955.
Philippe says: “I wanted to be a painter as far back as I can remember. When I finished my schooling, I spent a few years travelling in the Far East and in Europe. I settled down in Chester, Cheshire, where my two girls were born and where I started making a living with my paintings.
I came to the south of France in 1981. After a few years selling my paintings outside I worked for a couple of years for a gallery in Nice. Shortly afterwards, I started doing murals and intricate decorating in many locations in the south of France, Monaco, Burgundy, Paris, Italy, Switzerland and even Japan.
I started sculpting 30 years ago; first in Olive wood then in marble. Sculpting is now a big part of my work. My sculptures are quite intricate, so I produce only one a year.”
