I am travelling back with my car from St Tropez and would like to know if any of you could give me a different route back rather than use the Autoroute all the way. It would be good if I can do 2days heading north and pick up the Autoroute further on. Thanks In Advance Aidan

I want a Motorbike in the Summer, but want one bigger than 125cc. Does anyone know how I go about it in France? My French is pretty rubish too, so if anyone knows of an English speaking school please tell me. Cheers Neil Mobile No:06842 66337Email: neilbryers@hotmail.com

IN OTHER COUNTRIES ONE CAN GET A FAIRLY CHEAP LIABILITY POLICY FOR THE PERSON RATHER THAN THE CAR  . I AM HERE A FEW MONTHS A YEAR AND WHEN HERE I BORROW, RENT OR SOMETIMES USE SEVERAL DIFFERENT CARS --SOMETIMES IT COMES WITH MY RENTAL OR TRADE OF HOMES . I AM NOT SURE IF THE STANDARD FRENCH POLICIES COVER ME WHILE DRIVING A FRENCH INSURED CAR THAT ISN'T MINE. THE CARS I USE [JUST NOW AND THEN]  MAY BE FRENCH OR NON-FRENCH REGISTERED. I HAVE A NON-FRENCH DRIV LICENSE. GOOD 10 YEAR NO CLAIMS OR VIOLATIONS RECORD. SO QUESTION IS, IS THERE SOME KIND OF LIABILITY INSURANCE POLICY I CAN GET TO COVER THIS SITUATION.... FROM WHOM? THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE OR REFERRAL. PUGIGALANTE@YAHOO.COM   PugiGalante

Hi I am about to move to Nice area... just bought a car in the UK (the car is German and had a German first owner, then was bought by a Brit from Germany and he brought it into the UK... I bought it from the Brit in the UK privately)... my concern is in regards to tax.... tax was paid on the car by the German first owner but as I bought it privately in the UK, no tax was payable by me. Will I have to pay tax when I try to register the car in France? Also, given that I have just bought the car, do I need to wait 6 months before I can register it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hello ! Can anyone recommed a driving school in Sophia Antipolis area or nearby Valbonne or even Mougins. I checked the Yellow pages and found three but would prefer a personal recommendation from someone who has tried or knows someone who has tried their services. I think I can get by with a french speaking instructor so that't not really a criteria but looking for someone patient and won't shout at me everytime I stall the car ! Thank you in advance for your reply. Stephanie
