Dyshasic, little boy of six learning french and english does anybodied have views or experience in this subject Janet
Do you mean Dyslexic? If yes, I may be able to help.
Yes. Email me if you want to discuss.
A quick and simplified distinction for anyone who wants to know:
Dysphasia/ Developmental Language Delay or Disorder/ Specific Language Impairment are real terms used (pretty much interchangeably) in different areas and countries to refer to specific difficulties in the development of understanding and/or use of (spoken) language and is different to Dyslexia ( difficulties in understanding and using written forms of language) although they may coexist in the same individual or with other difficulties.
Told you it was simplified!
Thank you. Leslie and Nona for your replys. I am hoping to set up a support group and workshops for children with speech and lanuage impairments in the var janet
Having spoken with Janet, it would be good to hear from others with a personal or professional interest in childrens speech and language issues. We are going to get together in the next couple of weeks - if this sounds relevant to you send either of us an email.
