This anniversary will be marked by an exhibition designed by the National Museum of Sport, in collaboration with Amaury Sport Organization, organizer of the Tour de France.
It traces, for all audiences, the innumerable adventures of the Yellow Jersey, whether on the shoulders of the greatest champions or those of a modest carrier. She also recalls that while the Yellow Jersey is synonymous with glory, it is also permeated with sweat and sometimes tears, in a long succession of exploits, disillusions or even tragedies. Since Eugene Christophe, first to take this honor, to Geraint Thomas, his most recent holder; Eddy Merckx, absolute record man who spent more than three months of his life in yellow, the most ephemeral leader, the exhibition "100 years of Yellow Jersey" tells how this garment of light has constantly made and break heroes.
One day or forever. On more than 500 m2, 170 objects and many immersive and interactive devices (bike simulator, virtual reality helmet, hologram, game route for families, etc.) pay tribute to this legendary jersey which since its creation, makes the rider unique among his fellow squad and weaves the thread of the big and the little story of the Tour.
A century of light projected on the leader of the event. Since it appeared in 1919, when the Tour was already experiencing its thirteenth edition, the Yellow Jersey lights up the race and illuminates the destinies, big or small, to the point of becoming a universal emblem that largely participates in the radiation of the Tour of France.
