Introduction
YISS is a Kindergarten (age 5) to 12th grade college-preparatory international school focused on developing students who are motivated from within and empowered to excel. A commitment to academic excellence is fostered within a uniquely caring and supportive learning community in which passionate and highly qualified Christian educators help each student feel accepted and secure in their ability to explore, ask questions, and take risks.

An Inclusive, Multi-Cultural Community
YISS welcomes families and students of all religions, backgrounds, and worldviews, providing a rich, multi-cultural experience anchored in the core principles of truth, excellence, and diversity. The student body of 980 students represents more than 54 different countries. Within this learning environment of diverse perspectives, the YISS community prepares students for a lifetime of learning, achievement, and service, anywhere in the world.

Well-Rounded Program Fostering Outstanding Academic Achievement
Fully accredited by WASC and ACSI and based on the U.S. educational model, the rigorous academic program includes an extensive offering of AP courses at the high school level. It results in YISS graduates gaining admission to highly competitive colleges and universities including many of the world’s most selective schools including Stanford, MIT, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, West Point, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, University College London, and University of St. Andrews (UK).

State-of-the-Art Facilities in the Heart of Seoul
YISS is conveniently located in the heart of Seoul’s foreign community. The expansive campus is surrounded by lush landscaping, tucked away on a hilltop overlooking Hannam-dong. Within this secure enclave, green space, playgrounds, and athletic fields complement impressive modern buildings filled with sunlit classrooms and modern facilities.

The YISS campus features the latest learning technology, specialized classrooms, two libraries, two gymnasiums, a spacious cafeteria, 500-seat auditorium, full-size turf soccer field, and a beautiful indoor aquatics center. A recent expansion added classrooms and facilities to accommodate increasing demand for enrollment. The newly expanded elementary school library features whimsical, child-friendly reading spaces and a woodland forest theme complete with toadstool chairs – part of an exciting campus that captures students’ imaginations and facilitates a world-class education.

Comprehensive Extra-Curricular Program
A comprehensive extracurricular program includes a rich array of athletics, performing and fine arts, community service, and leadership programs. These enable students to pursue their passions, explore new areas of interest as well as compete in interscholastic competitions in Korea and abroad.

Positive School Culture Facilitated by The Guardian Way
Character and leadership education begin on day one as students are introduced to “The Guardian Way”—an honor code that instills the virtues of self-discipline, honor, caring and respect. Faculty partner with parents to meet the needs of the whole child – intellectual, social, spiritual and physical – and are dedicated to ensuring each child reach his or her full potential. One of the hallmarks of the YISS experience is the mentoring relationship between faculty and students. Small class sizes and low student-teacher ratios allow for individualized attention.

Engaged Parent Community
School administrators and teachers consider parents as a vital partner in every child’s learning journey. Parents are welcomed to get involved in the YISS community through a myriad of programs that enrich and enhance the school experience for every student via the YISS PTO.

YISS offers school bus transportation using a fleet of 22 buses that service nearly all major areas of Seoul and Bundang.
YISS is located outside Hangangjin Station in Hannam-dong. The campus’ central location and proximity to major bridges, tunnels and roads make YISS easily accessible by many forms of transportation. Click here for Directions to YISS
