Six centurys of history can be found in this fortified castle which still belongs to the same family since its construction in 1341. Visited by Kings Louis XI and XIV, it also welcomed Soult and Wellington during the napoleonic wars.

Situated by the sheer cliffs of Hendaye, this chateau/observatory sits in the middle of a moor and was built in the late 1800s by Viollet le Duc for scientist and geographer Antoine dAbbadie.
