 About our school...

Het Rijnlands Lyceum International School Oegstgeest (ISRLO) is an international secondary school in Oegstgeest, South Holland, Netherlands, a quiet suburb of the historic Dutch university city of Leiden. The school's central location makes it easily accessible from areas throughout the Randstad region, including Amsterdam and The Hague.

The ISRLO was established in 1955 and this year celebrates its 60th year as part of the Dutch school Het Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest (RLO). RLO happens to offer its students a bi-lingual education (Dutch/English) programme which follows the Netherlands national secondary education curriculum. ISRLO, on the other hand, offers students the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) followed by the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP). Classroom instruction is in English.

Although the educational programmes of the International School are independent of those at the Dutch School, a conscious decision has been made for both schools to coexist within the same building, creating a unique meeting place of cultures. Students of both schools share the same facilities. Integration with the Dutch and Bilingual departments is encouraged whenever possible, for example theatre productions, sports activities, Model United Nations or other projects.

At the International School ‘Het Rijnlands Lyceum’ Oegstgeest our vision and mission is to provide an international education in a Dutch setting, challenging students and staff to reach their full potential.
