Something we noticed when on holiday in France was the Ikea products were generally more expensive than the Dutch Ikea's, I was wondering why this was after all with the euro surely everthing should be the same price?

Hello can some one tell me if there is away of being able to watch the BBC i player from Holland? As an example I missed the semi final of MasterChef last night and would've have enjoyed seeing it but because I have a Dutch i p adress I can't access the iplayer from the BBC web site. I seem to miss lots of programmes due to the hour difference.Anyone know if it can be done? I am happy to pay for the service.

Is it a good time to buy a house inThe Netherlands? We have just relocated here and wondering if we should buy rather than rent, but we can't seem to get a clear picture on what the housing market is really like. The estate agents tell me it's fine but of course they would say that wouldn't they. Any comments or thoughts much appreciated, Thanks

Hi, we are clearing out our home and we have loads of things for sale. Is it OK to have an adhoc Car Boot Sale or do I have to get some permission from the local Municipality?

I have done loads of gardening this weekend and filled up the green bin already, I really need another one. I was wondering what the cost would be and if it would make a difference to the rubbish collection tax if I have 2 bins?

Hi, can someone help me on this one, we have some neighbours (in flats) behind our house, which we rent. The trees in their garden are over hanging into our garden and taking a lot of the light not only from the garden but the house. We asked our landlord if he could get the trees cut but he wasn't that helpful so told us to ask the local geemnente (council) which we did.The result of all this is that we have been told we can't cut the tree on our side because it will make it unbalanced, therefore unsafe but they are not willing to have the trees cut on their side! The landlord has says he wants nothing to do with it but we are living in an increasingly darker garden and house.Anyone have a similar experience and may be able to give me some advice?

Good day to all!Would anyone know of any good mail order plant and/or seed companies that are either in the Netherlands or at the very least deliver there without too much hassle and expense? For a country that produces so very many plants, I'm having an unbelievably difficult time finding even simple things. Thank you!

Mark your calendars! Open garden day will be on Saturday June 6. Agardening association organizes a yearly tour of nice privately ownedgardens in Delft. Do not expect British garden style but it is nice justthe same. Many of these gardens you would not expect even if you passedthose houses every day. For a small fee you get a map (which you have tokeep as proof of payment at all gardens). You can tour gardens in theorder that you wish. Gardens vary in size and style. This year it will take place in Tantof West, Abtswoude, Buitenhof and Kerkpolder.from 9:30 till 16:00 Tickets will be available at some local stores or at the beginning of thetour route that dayopentuinendagdelft@gmail.com http://delft.groei.nl/index.php?id=16475 more information will come closer to that date.
