My husband would like to get a french hunting licence here in france,(he did have one in the uk). Has any one managed to do this, and how did you do it?
I think that to hunt in France you have to have the 'Permis de chasse' for most types of hunting and I think this also means that you have to sit a written test in French.
If your husband had a hunting licence in the UK he just needs to get it validated here in France at your local Prefecture.
You'll find information on hunting licences here, and there is also a validation form you can download http://alsace.angloinfo.com/countries/france/hunting.asp
Not quite correct Catherine, sorry.
To hunt in France you must have a Permis de Chasse, there are two tests, practical and theory, so to speak.
It is possible to have a temporary permit if you are not resident in France and only making a short visit.
This will explain it in detail.
