Lindenhof
An oasis in the middle of the Old Town with a great view of the right bank of the Limmat river. On the hill are the remains of Turicum, the Roman fort, that has been excavated. Goethe once stayed at the Freemasons lodge Alpina.

World famous shopping mile, with rows of elegant department stores, prominent boutiques for fashion and jewellery, inviting street cafes and restaurants.
Langenberg Wildlife Park
This 80 hectares of land is run by the city of Zurich. Natural and spacious enclosures allow wildlife to live as if in their native habitat. Albisstrasse 4, 8135 Langnau am Albis.
Aboretum
Inaugurated in 1887, this park is laid out in the style of a landscaped garden. Arboretum is a much frequented and popular park. Mythenquai 1, 8000 Zurich.
Conny-Land
Switzerlands largest leisure park with games, shows, and attractions for kids and adults. Dolphins, sea lions, parrots, playground and rides. Open daily from mid-March to mid-October. At Connylandstrasse, 8564 Lipperswil.
Municipal Gardens
This show garden contains thousands of flowers, including botanical rarities, two greenhouses, a pumpkin plantation and a colourful meadow. Open daily 09:00-11:30 and 13:30-16:30. Sackzelg 25-27, 8047 Zurich.
Chinese Garden Zurich
The garden was a gift from Kunming, Zurichs Chinese twin town. Built like a traditional south Chinese garden, the walls are a microcosm of pavilions, open gallery and water palace. Open March 28-October 18 11:00-19.00. Bellerivestrasse 144, 8008 Zurich
Sports facilities Erlen
Water and fun park with both summer and winter activities. Indoor and outdoor pools, skating rink, beach volleyball. Courses in swimming, diving, Nordic walking and more. Open daily. At Sportanlage Erlen, Niederhaslistrasse 20, 8157 Dielsdorf.
Knies Kinderzoo
Over 300 animals that can be fed and stroked. Elephant, pony and camel rides, and a sea lion show for children and adults. At Oberseestrasse 41, 8640 Rapperswil.
Fraumuenster
This Gothic church was founded in 853, and was a former nuns convent. Famous for its five large stained glass windows by Marc Chagall. Open April - October 10:00-18:00, November - March 10:00-16:00 and Sundays 11:00-15:00. Paradeplatz.
Atzmaenning Sport and Leisure Center
A leisure park with playground, giant slide, petting zoo, and barbecue pits. Surrounded by mountain hiking trails. 8638 Goldingen.
Nature Centre Sihlwald
Fascinating natural reserve within minutes of the city of Zurich. Open April to October, Tuesday to Saturday 12:00-17:30, Sunday and public holidays 09:00-17:30. Sihltalstrasse 1684, 8135 Sihlwald.
